RN-only pathwayPrograms · For Nurses / RN

Your RN license already opens the aesthetic chair.

An RN license is 90% of the way to an injector's career — this is the other 10%. Trade night shifts and burnout for the aesthetic chair: real patients, real injections, physician-supervised. One of medicine's fastest-growing, best-paying fields. RNs only.

Every state writes its own RN rules.

This program is built around Florida RN scope — delegation, supervision, and standing orders the way the FL Board of Nursing actually enforces them. RNs licensed in other states should verify their own board's rules before practicing.

Why thousands of US nurses are leaving the floor.

Burnout in nursing is no longer an industry whisper. National data puts intent-to-leave at over 30% of bedside RNs. The exit ramp most are choosing isn't another hospital — it's medical aesthetics.

Injecting full-time at a med-spa pays comparably to or better than bedside nursing without the night shifts, the holiday rotations, or the moral injury of short staffing. The clinical skills are not exotic: aseptic technique, anatomy, dosing, patient education — you already have them. What you need is structured aesthetic training, scope clarity, and a runway to your first hundred patients.

That's what this pathway is.

Licensing · Florida Statute · Scope

What Florida actually allows an RN to inject.

Florida is a delegation state — and scope for RNs varies by product class.

Botulinum toxins (Botox / Dysport / Xeomin / Jeuveau). Approvable for RNs in Florida. A Florida nurse has obtained approval through a declaratory statement petition with the Board of Nursing — a pathway we walk every student through in module 2.

Dermal fillers, biostimulators, Kybella and other injectables. Not currently approved for RNs to pursue independently in Florida. They may be pursued (a) in another state that permits independent RN practice, or (b) in Florida under a declaratory statement and direct physician supervision. Because these procedures can be performed under direct physician supervision, RNs are able to complete this hands-on training with our medical director.

What this means in practice:

  • You will need a medical director or supervising physician. Most med-spas already have one; if you're going independent, MSI can introduce you to physicians offering medical-director relationships.
  • You cannot prescribe. Standing protocols are signed by the physician and govern your work.
  • You can build a portable career. Other states permit broader RN scope — your MSI training travels.
Other states: Scope-of-practice rules for RNs vary by state. Some states allow RNs to perform the same aesthetic procedures Florida permits for nurse practitioners. We cover what your specific state and license allow.
MSI is not a law firm and this page is not legal advice. Before opening an independent practice, consult Florida-licensed counsel and confirm the current Florida Department of Health and Board of Medicine guidance — both shift periodically.

Ana Batista — small classes, real hands-on hours, and the confidence to step into the aesthetic chair.

Ana chose MedSpa Institute because it was highly rated — and what kept her sure of the decision were the things a brochure can't show: a schedule that fit her life, small classes where she was never just a face in the room, and a curriculum she calls amazing.

What she values most is how ready it left her. The quality of the education and the hands-on experience made her genuinely confident in her skills — the kind of confidence she says will carry her in the aesthetics world. And the staff sealed it: always ready to help, always teaching, always pushing, and, in her words, really setting you up for success.

"The quality and the hands-on experience made me really confident in my skills."
— Ana Batista, Class of 2024

Who can apply?

Active, unencumbered RN license.
Any U.S. state. Florida preferred; out-of-state welcome (verify FL practice rights before independent work).
At least 1 year of clinical nursing experience.
Post-licensure, any setting.
Government-issued photo ID and proof of license.
NCSBN nursys verification or state-issued.
Comfortable with needles, blood, and patient communication.
Should not be controversial — but we will say it anyway.
Out-of-state nurses: you may complete training at MSI on your home-state license, but to practice in Florida you will need to either (a) obtain Florida licensure or (b) move to a state offering compact-license RN privileges. We help walk you through either path.
