Education · Background

What our board credentials mean.

A Florida medical license (MD) is granted by the Florida Department of Health Board of Medicine. It requires graduation from an accredited medical school, completion of an ACGME-accredited residency, passing all three steps of the USMLE, and ongoing continuing-medical-education and DEA compliance for renewal. Dr. Arviv's license is the credential that authorizes her to perform injectable, laser, and surgical aesthetic procedures and to medically oversee MSI's clinical curriculum.

A Florida Facial Specialist license is issued by the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation (FL DBPR) Board of Cosmetology. It requires completion of a state-approved 220-hour program (or recognized equivalent), and biennial 16-hour continuing-education compliance for renewal. It is the credential MSI's flagship program prepares its graduates to obtain.

A Florida Cosmetology Instructor license requires holding the underlying facial-specialist license plus a separate state-approved instructor-preparation program plus passing a separate FL DBPR instructor examination. It is one of the more demanding teaching credentials in the cosmetology field. Rita Kruse holds this credential, which authorizes MSI's curriculum delivery.
