Commute is not a minor detail
An intensive schedule means daily attendance for several weeks. A 45-minute drive each way adds roughly 90 minutes to every training day. Across four to eight weeks, that's a substantial amount of time and fuel — and, more practically, it's the thing that makes people miss clinic days.
Map your actual commute at the actual time you'd be traveling. Tampa's Westshore and I-275 corridors and Miami's morning patterns behave very differently at 8 a.m. than they do on a Sunday afternoon.
Client mix and treatment variety
Both cities offer genuine diversity in skin types and concerns, which matters enormously for training quality — you want exposure to a wide range while someone is supervising you.
The texture differs slightly. Miami's client base skews heavily toward an established, high-volume aesthetics culture with strong demand across a broad service menu. Tampa's market is expanding quickly, with growth spread across neighborhoods and a mix of boutique studios, physician-affiliated practices, and hospitality spas.
Neither is better training. Both give you the variety you need.
Market pace after graduation
Miami is a mature, competitive aesthetics market. There's substantial demand, and there are also many providers. Standing out tends to require specialization and a strong personal brand relatively early.
Tampa Bay is earlier in its growth curve. Demand has been outpacing the supply of trained professionals, which typically shortens the distance between graduating and getting hired. Compensation ceilings may be somewhat lower at the top end than in Miami's most established practices, but entry is often faster.
Cost of living
For most people, this is the quiet deciding factor. Housing, parking, and daily expenses generally run lower in the Tampa area than in central Miami. If you're reducing work hours to attend an intensive schedule, your monthly burn rate during training matters as much as tuition does.
Run the arithmetic on the whole period, not just the tuition figure. The tuition breakdown covers the program cost; you supply the living cost.
Language and community
Both markets reward multilingual professionals. Miami's Spanish-language client base is extensive and often the default in many practices. Tampa's is substantial and growing, with additional communities represented across the bay area.
If you're bilingual, both cities put that to work. If you're building the skill, either environment gives you practice.
Schedule availability
A practical constraint: cohort start dates and schedule formats can differ by campus at any given moment. If your calendar is rigid — you need a weekend-weighted format, or you need to start within a specific window — availability may make the decision for you.
